Tutoring credits

Students can earn credits from working as a tutor or a board member in a student association. Requirements are at least 2 semesters of active service and a final report. The maximum credits a person can earn are 12 ECTS. The credits can be found from WinhaWille under the name of "yhteisöllinen toiminta".

CREDITS  

Student associations (e.g. ESN-HELGA)

• President 6 ECTS
• Board member 3 ECTS

Tutoring

• Exchange student tutor (ESN-HELGA tutor) 3 ETCS
• Peer tutor (HELGA tutor, vertaistutor) 3 ECTS
• Callidus tutor 1-5 ECTS

REPORTING AND APPLYING CREDITS

ESN-HELGA tutor/board member:

• Write a final report. From the report one should get a clear picture of your level of activity, responsibilities, possible board posts, duration of the tutoring etc. Use the “ESN-HELGA Tutor report template” (also attached at the end of this article).
• Send your report to Secretary for International Affairs and Tutoring per e-mail: kvtutorsihteeri@helga.fi .
• Student Union’s secretary checks your report and recommend the correct amount of credits for school personnel.
• Your academic advisor or international coordinator makes the final decision about the credits and submits them to WinhaWille.
• Sometimes it might take a while (maximum one month) to get the credits on WinhaWille. Please apply for credits as soon as possible and be prepared for the waiting time.
